I am an aspiring developer who is currently studying Computer Science at Loughborough University, I got my aspiration for the subject from attending college where I studied Web and Games Development with 3D modelling.
This provided me with basic web coding skills but I wanted to take this further so I taught myself PHP, in order to learn it efficiently I set my self some projects which you will see below
I also know HTML, CSS, jQuery, javascript, jQuery, also the basics of c++ and java
Scoll down for some projects I have done.
This was a University Team project in which our small team designed a piece of software to help a company move from a paper ticketing system to an online automated system.
The pre-existing system was all written by hand in a book by the phone operator, and often had many mistakes or lost cases as it was hard to keep track of them all. Our job was to improve this and make the old ticketing service an automated online version to increase efficiency in the operators job and above all else minimise the amount of lost and duplication of cases.
First of all we went through the client brief which was very vague, so many meetings were set up to help clarify any misunderstandings.
After a prototype was created the client wanted the software to be internationalised because they had recently taken over an overseas company and may need to outsource any technical specialist jobs to be solved, therefore we needed to include some kind of translation feature. This was achieved above and beyond the expectations of the client.
This is a personnal project of mine that is currently on going in my spare time, I am doing this project to learn new skills.
Because of the skills I have learnt while doing this project I am now at an intermidiate PHP level.
The Content Management System I have built form scratch is a blog site, I was going to take a twitter approach and recreate that but i decided against it and take my own spin on doing a blog site, so far the features are limited but as time goes on the recently added list below will increase
Currently it can make articles delete and edit them it also has a login system for users to do this so it is controlled what can be put on the blog.

I created this website from scratch using the knowledge previously learnt at college.
I spoke to the client to get a feel for what kind of website they wanted, as they were pretty open on designs i came up with a few mockups in photoshop and they chose the one they liked most.
Throught the project i kept them looped in at every stage to amke sure it was truley tailored for what they wanted.
After the final update I released it to the public domain, using google webmaster tools I managed to index the webiste quicker making it appear on the first page sooner after a few weeks the website was number 1 on googles search list.
I kept this going as an on going maintenace job after so if they had any chanegs to the site they wanted doing.
The site was hosted on my personal server as this was qite a small website to just display information about the buisness.
Alhtough I didn't hard code this website, this was a maintenace job of mine where I had to add and take products down.
I did hard code some features as this used a prebuilt CMS called EKM, it was quite easy to use but it also broadened my skills of using a drag and drop website.
I also had other jobs to do such as monitoring profit and loss using EKM's own analytics and also I used google adwords to help market the products as the business did sell to the whole of the UK.
I created this for a college project to make a game for 6 year olds to learn how to use the mouse and make fun pictures with shapes.
The main purpose of this game was to teach us jQuery and also a little bit of javascript, this helped with the overall build of the system to make it fun and interactive.
I took this further by adding different sceneries and pictures to make different sets, so that the users could make different pictures e.g in a desert scenario they could add camels. Coming soon will be the chance to download the picture you have made for offline use to look at.
